Role Overview
Join our core platform team to build scalable, secure APIs that power our client and product ecosystem. You will work at the intersection of traditional backend engineering and applied AI, integrating large language models and third-party services into production workflows. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys owning services end-to-end, from design through deployment and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, secure APIs and microservices in Node.js and/or Python.
- Integrate large language models and third-party AI services into core product workflows.
- Own data modeling, caching, and performance tuning for high-traffic services.
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting to keep production systems healthy.
- Work closely with frontend and AI teams to ship end-to-end features.
- Write automated tests and participate in peer code reviews.
- Document APIs and internal services for the wider engineering team.
Requirements
- 2+ years of backend engineering experience with Node.js or Python.
- Solid understanding of API design, authentication, and database design (SQL/NoSQL).
- Experience deploying and operating services in the cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Comfortable with Docker and container-based deployments.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in distributed systems.
- Understanding of security best practices for backend services.
- Clear written communication for documenting APIs and decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) or vector databases.
- Familiarity with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS).
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
- Prior experience in a product or SaaS engineering team.
